Hosted in early Spring over the two days prior to the famous international Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials in Gloucestershire, the vibrant Mitsubishi Motors Cup brings together winners from Regional Finals from around the country to contest the overall British Eventing Championship held at BE90 and BE100 level.
The qualifying process begins over a year before the Mitsubishi Motors Cup takes place; eligible riders in any normal BE90, BE90Open, BE100 and BE100Open classes compete to finish in the top few percent of their section in order to receive a qualification spot to one of the Mitsubishi Motors Regional Finals. The Regional Finals are seen up and down the country between August and October the season before the Mitsubishi Motors Cup and it is here that qualified riders contest for their place to the Mitsubishi Motors Cup, either at BE90 or BE100 level. (Further information on Regional Finals and the qualification process can be found HERE.)

The dressage phase takes place across the whole of the first day of competition and the morning of the second day, after which competitors will move on to the show jumping arena before taking to the final cross country phase. The cross country takes riders around the park of the Badminton Estate and even past the beautiful house and through the famous ‘Lake’, the BE90 and BE100 competitor with the lowest score after all three phases is then crowned the winner in a mounted prize giving in front of Badminton House.
Generously sponsored by Mitsubishi Motors riders in the popular British Eventing Championship compete for an impressive prize package which includes the chance to drive away a new car from the Mitsubishi Motors range for a whole year.
